In an unfortunate instance of hit-and-run on June 30, a 13-year-old girl was severely injured while traversing the streets of Chicago. This incident occurred at about 5:12 P.M., as reported by the Chicago Police Department. The young pedestrian was at 8449 S. Vincennes Ave when struck by a vehicle, described as a blue/gray SUV, which may resemble a 2010 Mazda Mazda5.
The vehicle involved in the heart-wrenching scene did not cease its journey after the collision, last seen driving away northbound on Vincennes Ave. from Kerfoot Ave, as per the Chicago Police Department. In their departure, they did not stop to offer essential aid to the injured child, nor any information about the crash was provided by the occupants. Details given by the authorities suggest that the implicated SUV likely sustained damage on its front, including possibly the hood and/or windshield.
A source from the police informs that an incentive exists for the public to aid in this matter. They hope to solicit help in bringing the concerned individual or individuals to accountability.
