
A tragic vehicular accident in Westmoreland County claimed the life of a young woman early Monday morning. Brittany P. Ohler, a 24-year-old from Hempfield, was involved in a solo vehicle crash that occurred on Route 819 in Mt. Pleasant Township. According to CBS News Pittsburgh, Ohler was traveling north when her Jeep Wrangler veered over the shoulder of the road, proceeded to strike a chainlink fence, overturned, and then collided with a utility pole.
The accident, which took place just before 6 a.m., resulted in fatal injuries for Ohler, who was reportedly not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash. Westmoreland County Coroner Tim Carson stated that Ohler died due to blunt force injuries related to the incident, which was ruled accidental. In a statement reported by TribLIVE, the coroner detailed the circumstances of the tragic event.
The local community has been quick to respond to the crash, with multiple fire departments, including those from Hecla, Mt. Pleasant, Kecksburg, and Norvelt, arriving at the scene. The aftermath of the crash has left the family arranging funeral services through the Bacha Funeral Home.
