Residents of the Fountainhead Subdivision were victims of a series of robberies and attempted vehicle thefts that culminated in the arrest of Jorge Mena-Gomez. The incident, first reported in a stolen vehicle call on June 28, escalated when Mena-Gomez abandoned the initially stolen vehicle and then assaulted another individual before trying to steal a second vehicle, according to an official Facebook post by Constable Mark Herman's Office.
Responding to the series of crimes, deputies of Constable Mark Herman's Office managed to catch Mena-Gomez as he was attempting another vehicle theft which marks a rapid and efficient response by local law enforcement to the string of incidents that terrorized the local community before Mena-Gomez could escalate his crimes further. During the investigation, it was revealed Mena-Gomez was responsible for multiple robberies in the area that day.
"Jorge Mena-Gomez was arrested and booked into the Harris County Jail, charged with Robbery and Unauthorized Use of a Motor Vehicle," said Constable Mark Herman, with no bond being set at the time by the 182nd District Court.
