The motorcyclist, identified as 59-year-old Gregory Hood of Shady Side, was pronounced deceased at the scene after his 2009 Suzuki motorcycle hit a 2014 Toyota Sequoia, the collision happened around 7:48 a.m., and police were called to the area where the motorcycle had apparently crossed the center line and entered the path of the oncoming vehicle, WMAR2 News detailed. The driver of the Suzuki, Hood, was declared dead upon the arrival of emergency responders, confirming the gravity of the incident.

The Sequoia was driven by 47-year-old Lisa Michelle Cruz of Millersville, who escaped the crash without injury, as reported by the Baltimore Sun. According to police, Cruz was heading south on the same road when the motorcycle veered into her path, leading to the tragic event.

Investigations into the cause of the crash are ongoing, and Anne Arundel’s Traffic Safety Section is handling the inquiry.
