Several Dallas-Fort Worth area hospitals have been named amongst the elite in Texas, according to a recent report by U.S. News & World Report. Out of the 584 hospitals evaluated across the state, five DFW medical centers were ranked in the top 15 of the "Best Hospitals in Texas." The Houston area dominated the top 10, with Houston Methodist Hospital leading the pack as the number one hospital in Texas, according to the U.S. News.

The prestigious U.S. News & World Review looks at a myriad of factors such as patient outcomes, the level of nursing care, and the range of services provided to determine the rankings. UT Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas claimed the second spot just shy of Houston Methodist. UT Southwestern has been nationally recognized in 11 specialties and was deemed "high performing" in 19 procedures and conditions, according to The Dallas Express.

Baylor University Medical Center also headquartered in Dallas, ranked third statewide. It boasts national rankings in six specialties, including pulmonology and lung surgery, gastroenterology and GI surgery, and obstetrics and gynecology. Further down the list but still among the elite, Baylor Scott and White All Saints Medical Center in Fort Worth secured the eleventh position, while Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital in Dallas and Texas Health Harris Methodist Hospital Southwest in Fort Worth ranked thirteenth and fifteenth, respectively.
