A downtown Seattle altercation on Sunday afternoon left one man with a stab wound and another in handcuffs. According to the Seattle Police Department, the stabbing occurred in City Hall Park in the 400 block of 3rd Avenue.
The police were called to the scene at 5:19 p.m. and arrived to quickly find three people involved in a fight. One man, aged 50, was bleeding profusely from a chest wound, as per the Seattle Police Department. The Seattle Fire Department treated him on-site before transporting him to Harborview Medical Center, where he was reported to be in stable condition. Police said, the injury was inflicted with what appears to have been a waiter’s corkscrew, which they later recovered as evidence.
The suspect, a 52-year-old male, accused the victim of stealing his backpack, which seemed to have spiraled into a violent confrontation. Shortly after the incident, officers detained and arrested the man, who now faces charges of Assault 1st Degree, Violation of a No Contact Order, and an arrest warrant was issued for domestic violence Assault 4th Degree, as detailed by the Seattle Police Department.
