
Memphis and Shelby County commemorated an educational milestone, celebrating Dr. Marie N. Feagins' first 100 days as the Superintendent of Memphis-Shelby County Schools (MSCS). Dr. Feagins, who stepped into the role on April 1st, recently held a special address to honor this marker, which was warmly received by the local community and beyond, as per the Memphis-Shelby County Schools.
In the event, which saw nearly 700 people attending in person and 9,000 tuning in online, Dr. Feagins shared insights and progress reports detailing how MSCS is on course with its transformative quest to boost educational results. The superintendent acknowledged the community's support and involvement, emphasizing the collective effort: "Bringing the community along the journey has remained a priority for me since taking the helm on April 1." As per the Memphis-Shelby County Schools, Feagins told attendees, "Seeing a packed room filled with excitement on a Wednesday night was incredibly encouraging, as we reflected on the first 100 days and shared a bold vision for elevating the excellence of Memphis-Shelby County Schools.”
According to a local report, the much-anticipated review – which unpacks several of Feagins’ initiatives – was also made public. It unveils a roadmap of strategic efforts to foster consistent and measurable improvement across the district’s schools.
