
Early Monday morning, a driver was shot on the Bishop Ford Freeway in the Roseland neighborhood on Chicago's South Side, causing a closure on the northbound lanes. According to the Chicago Sun-Times, Illinois State Troopers responded to the scene around 5:15 a.m. near Michigan Avenue, where they found the victim with injuries that were not considered life-threatening.
The driver was promptly transported to an area hospital for medical attention. Despite the violence unfurling on the expressway, no significant traffic disruptions were reported as of around 8 a.m., and nor were there details regarding potential suspects or the circumstances surrounding the shooting.
CBS Chicago added that all northbound lanes of I-94 at the location of the shooting were closed while the investigation proceeded.
The Illinois State Police have yet to release additional information about the driver's condition or any developments in their ongoing probe.
