As Duluth gears up for the annual Fourth of July celebrations, the city's iconic Aerial Lift Bridge and the Minnesota Slip Pedestrian Bridge are adjusting their operations to accommodate the festivities. Visitors and residents planning to view the fireworks display should note that the Aerial Lift Bridge will not lift for ship traffic from 7:00 pm to 11:30 pm on Tuesday, July 4, as detailed by the City of Duluth, MN Government. The structure, a historical beacon and a symbol of the region’s nautical roots will allow uninterrupted pedestrian and vehicle passage during these hours.
Boat operators capable of passing beneath the bridge without a lift have the green light to proceed, according to the City of Duluth, MN Government. The Minnesota Slip Bridge, which serves as a pedestrian crossing point, is slated to be in the down position from 8:30 pm to 11:30 pm on the same day.
