According to a Hoodline report, the fatal shooting took place in the early hours of Sunday morning. Ventura County Sheriff's Office deputies discovered the 23-year-old victim with a gunshot wound at around 2:55 A.M. on the 1000-block of Collins Street.
In an attempt to save the man's life, deputies rendered emergency first-aid before he was transported to a local hospital. Despite these efforts, the victim succumbed to his injuries.
