
Flames engulfed part of a Norwood apartment complex late Friday morning, prompting a large turnout of emergency services. The blaze was reported in the William Shyne Circle area, as announced in a post from Norwood Police. The department urged the public to avoid the vicinity due to the "active fire" that was reported at approximately 11:50 a.m.
A photo included with the police post showed plumes of smoke billowing into the sky, visible from neighboring streets. SKY7-HD flew over the incident around 12:45 p.m., capturing footage of the emergency crews as they worked to contain a fire that had severely affected at least one of the the apartment units, as described by WHDH. The visual evidence displayed a gaping hole where a wall once stood, surrounded by the charred remains and detritus that once composed someone’s home.

Despite the quick response from firefighters, the damage inflicted upon the building was undeniably severe. The affected unit was left with an open wall, through which burned fragments of what were once personal belongings now spilled out.
