
A tragic collision between a motorcycle and a vehicle on U.S. Highway 290 in southwest Travis County resulted in one fatality Tuesday afternoon, as reported by Austin-Travis County Emergency Medical Services (ATCEMS). The exact location of the crash was determined to be near the 12000 block of West U.S. 290, which is close to the interface of Travis and Hays County according to CBS Austin. ATCEMS has disclosed that the individual was pronounced deceased at the scene, although details surrounding the victim or the cause of the crash were not immediately available.

The roadblock resulting from the accident led to shutdowns in both eastbound and westbound lanes of the highway at Nutty Brown Road adding to the already rushed-hour congestion drivers were advised by The Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) to seek alternative routes, as indicated in one of their social media updates road closures, and ensuing traffic conditions were expected to produce significant delays, as per KXAN.
