An early morning tragedy occurred on State Road 408 in east Orange County, as a deadly collision involving multiple vehicles resulted in at least one fatality and the closure of the eastbound lanes. According to the Florida Highway Patrol's website, the incident unfolded just after 3 a.m. near the vicinity of Dean Road. The stretch of highway east of State Road 417 is now the scene of investigation and redirection, with FOX 35 reporting that traffic is being diverted off at State Road 417.
The details surrounding the crash are still emerging, but FOX 35 has confirmed that a 2024 Honda Civic, a 2017 Dodge Durango Caravan, and a 2016 Toyota Corolla were the vehicles involved. It is reported that the driver of the Dodge, a woman whose identity has yet to be released, was pronounced dead at the site.
