
Firefighters in Santa Clara County sprung into action after reports of smoke near Aldercroft Heights Road and Bridge Road in unincorporated Los Gatos. The incident was reported at around 5:20 p.m. Upon arrival, the crews were met with a vegetation blaze spreading at a slow to moderate rate. Access proved challenging for the fire teams as the location was remote. The Santa Clara County Fire Department estimated the fire covered about 1 acre by 6:27 p.m.

Assistance was robust with multiple agencies at the scene. The San Jose Fire Department (@SJFD), CAL FIRE Santa Clara Unit (@calfireSCU), and Santa Clara County Parks (@SCCParks) lent their efforts to contain the fire. California Highway Patrol's San Jose Division (@CHPSanJose) played a crucial role in traffic control, while the Santa Clara County Sheriff's Office (@SCCoSheriff) handed out evacuation notices. Despite the rapidly organized response, Bridge Road had to be closed for safety.
Fortunately, no injuries were reported in the incident, and while the situation initially prompted evacuation warnings, these were later lifted. The firefighters' efforts bore fruit as they made significant headway in containing the fire. No structures were deemed in immediate danger, and officials have expressed that they foresee remaining on the scene for an extended period to ensure the fire is thoroughly mopped up and fully contained.
