Authorities have taken a Fitzgerald woman into custody following a child death investigation. Kelsey Monaco, aged 30, faces severe allegations including cruelty to children and felony murder after the tragic incident that led to the death of a 4-year-old boy, as reported by the Georgia Bureau of Investigation (GBI).
On the eve of July 24, the Fitzgerald Police Department had to call upon the GBI to look into what had quickly gone from a harrowing concern to a grim reality. The young child, who somehow managed to leave his apartment unsupervised, was later discovered unresponsive inside a car. Efforts to revive him were futile, and upon arrival at a local hospital, he was pronounced dead. In the midst of this nightmare, it is reported that Monaco was promptly booked at the Ben Hill County Jail.
