Last night, a calm Mattapan neighborhood echoed with gunfire that left five individuals wounded. According to the Boston Police Department, at approximately 9:48 PM on Wednesday, July 10th, officers rushed to 10 Greenwood St in response to a shooting incident. Found were five victims with gunshot wounds, their evening shattered by a burst of violence, ranging from an 11-year-old child to young adults in their early twenties.
First responders provided immediate aid at the scene before the victims, including a 21-year-old male, a 20-year-old male, a 21-year-old female, and a 20-year-old female, along with the aforementioned minor, were transported to local hospitals. Luckily, all injuries were ruled as non-life-threatening. Shortly after attending to the victims, a vehicle showing the harsh marks of the incident, a window shattered by bullets, was located near Washington St, possibly linked to the shooting.
The District B-3 detectives are now piecing together the incident's circumstances, digging through the evidence looking for any viable lead.
