Almost four years after a violent incident that left Mychael Farve, a 33-year-old Black man from San Diego, dead, authorities have succeeded in apprehending the suspect. The San Diego Police Department confirmed the arrest of Sheila Camarena, Farve's former partner, who was wanted in connection with the 2020 murder. Farve was found critically injured from an assault in Talmadge, succumbing to his injuries back in September 2020, a case that remained unsolved until recent developments.
The San Diego Police Communications Center received a distressing 911 call early on September 18, 2020. Responding officers discovered Farve with serious trauma on Euclid Avenue. Despite immediate medical attention and rapid transport to a local hospital, Farve was declared dead at 4:15 a.m. Initially, details about the confrontation and the perpetrator were scarce. According to the City of San Diego's official website, it was later ascertained that the incident involved a dispute between Farve and 25-year-old Camarena, leading to the fatal shooting.
After an exhaustive investigation by the Homicide Unit, a felony warrant for Camarena's arrest was issued on February 25, 2021. She remained at large until Tuesday when detectives apprehended her at the United States Port of Entry in San Ysidro. Following the arrest, she was booked into Las Colinas Jail, facing the outstanding murder charge.
The San Diego Police Department continues to gather information on this case and urges the public to come forward with any relevant information. They can contact the Hometown Unit at (619) 531-2293 or provide anonymous tips to Crime Stoppers at (888) 580-8477.
