Grand Prairie Libraries are set to engage young minds through a host of free programs this July, catering to both kids and teens. As part of the Summer Reading Club, these events are not just aimed to entertain but also to foster a lifelong passion for reading and discovery.

The programs are scheduled to take place across three locations: the Main Library, Warmack Library, and the Shotwell Library located in the Shotwell Life Center. Participants have the opportunity to quickly earn prizes by reading throughout the summer. The agenda includes snack times, creative workshops, and a chance to intimately learn about marine life and musical instruments.

An array of activities designed for grades 6-12, dubbed 'Snacks and Chat', will include unplugged card and board games. Events are to happen sequentially from July 9 to July 11 across the three library branches. Furthermore, 'Shark Tales', taking place on July 12, will feature professional photographer Matt Merchant who will share his knowledge and experiences with sharks, aiming to provide a deeper understanding of these often-misunderstood creatures, according to the City of Grand Prairie, Texas

A magical spectacle by Bella Benettia, self-proclaimed 'Queen of the Unicorns', is to ensnare the imaginations of attendees at the 'Unicorn Show' on July 19. Children will be transported to a world where unicorn magic tricks, songs, and games reign supreme. Moreover, ‘Tattoo Tales’ scheduled for July 22, promises to not just decorate the skin but also to richly enlighten families about the global cultural traditions of tattooing.

Music aficionados can look forward to 'The World of the Orchestra' on July 23, where Symphony Arlington will be facilitating pre-kindergarten through fifth-grade children to not only hear and see but also touch and explore various aspects of an orchestra. Creativity continues to be a theme with 'Canvas and Chapters' for grades 6-12, encouraging them to artistically express themselves by designing book covers. Finally, Sam the Magic Man is set to captivate audiences of all ages with his family magic show on July 26.
