The culinary landscape of the San Fernando Valley is set for a nostalgic twist as Goldburger plots its expansion with a new location in Granada Hills. Set to open in late September, this will be the third establishment under the Goldburger banner, known for its attention to the classic American burger experience. The latest outpost will take over the former Frosty Queen spot, a local haunt that closed its doors back in May this year.

According to Eater, Allen Yelent, Goldburger's owner and San Fernando Valley native, is eager to serve up burger goodness near his old stomping grounds. "I grew up in Chatsworth and went to Porter Middle School in Granada Hills," Yelent said. "I’ve always wanted to open a place in the Valley and there’s so much more beyond on Ventura Boulevard." The Valley resident's anticipation is not just about flipping patties, it’s tied to revitalizing a familiar setting from his formative years.

The soon-to-be Goldburger Granada Hills will not only bring back burger stand classics but also integrate a convenient drive-thru, marking a first for the Goldburger brand. Diners can expect more seating options, both indoors and outdoors, compared to its predecessors in Highland Park and Los Feliz. Milkshakes and soft-serve ice cream will join the menu as well – a nod to the sweet legacy of Frosty Queen.

Despite the fresh additions, Yelent is committed to retaining the essence of what has made Goldburger a hit. "I’m going to streamline the menu so it’ll be similar to a Goldburger," Yelent told Eater. The Granada Hills location will feature standard milkshake flavors like chocolate, vanilla, and strawberry, alongside seasonal offerings. Patrons with a morning appetite can look forward to a new breakfast burrito, expanding the brand’s morning menu for the first time.

Goldburger first came onto the Los Angeles food scene in Highland Park in 2019 and opened its second location two years later. Its proven recipe for success will likely resonate with the Granada Hills community, with local burger aficionados eager to sink their teeth into this latest venture. If the pattern of affection for the Los Angeles burger tradition continues, Goldburger Granada Hills is poised to become a cherished neighborhood staple.
