The serene early hours in Waipahu were shattered when a confrontation escalated to gunfire, leaving three people injured. As reported by Hawaii News Now, law enforcement sources affirm that around 1:30 a.m. yesterday, what began as a heated argument in a vehicle on Leowaena Street turned violent after a male suspect attacked one man with a glass bottle before brandishing a handgun and opening fire.
The whole chain of events set off an intense manhunt with Honolulu police searching for the gunman. According to the same report, a 17-year-old boy was injured alongside a 22-year-old man and a 23-year-old woman, all of whom are expected to survive. The gunman's identity remains elusive as the authorities have not provided any substantial leads on the suspect.
The Star-Advertiser described the suspect as a 22-year-old male who fled the scene prior to the arrival of the police. The incident rapidly drew the attention of local authorities, and they are now investigating the event as an attempted murder.
