Yesterday, a stolen U-Haul truck became the center of a police action in Harris County. According to a Facebook post by Constable Mark Herman's Office, deputies spotted the vehicle in the 19500 block of the North Freeway. When they attempted to pull the truck over, the driver initiated a pursuit.
The chase was short-lived. After a brief escapade, the vehicle came to a stop, and two individuals, the driver and a passenger made a run for it, but they didn't make it far. They were quickly apprehended by the deputies. In the aftermath, the two suspects were identified as Jordan Diaz and Juan Martinez. Herman's office stated that "They were arrested and booked into the Harris County Jail. Jordan Diaz was charged with Evading in a Motor Vehicle and Juan Martinez was charged with Evading Arrest and Detention. Their bond and court information have not been set at this time."
No injuries or additional property damage were reported following the incident. The investigation continues.
