The Harris County Sheriff's Office is piecing together the details of a fatal shooting that occurred on the Eastex Freeway feeder road this morning. As reported by FOX 26 Houston, at around 9:30 a.m. on the northbound feeder road at Lauder Road, a driver in a burgundy Cadillac was gunned down. Officials are saying a dark-colored SUV or crossover was involved, with shots fired into the Cadillac before the suspect vehicle fled the scene. Tragically, the driver of the Cadillac was pronounced dead at the location, his identity initially withheld pending notification of next of kin.
Further investigations led to the identification of the victim as 19-year-old Jusnz Joseph, as detailed in an update by KHOU. Authorities continue to look for the gray or dark-colored SUV or crossover-type vehicle believed to be involved. Sheriff Ed Gonzalez communicated that the motive for the shooting remains unclear, detailing that it's uncertain whether the incident was a result of road rage or some other catalyst.
