Following a canine influenza outbreak, over 200 dogs have triumphantly returned to the Hillsborough County Pet Resource Center (PRC), primed and ready for adoption. According to an announcement from the PRC, these dogs were previously relocated to another facility as a health precaution, but now after testing and treatment, they have been cleared and confirmed to have developed immunity to the virus.
The shelter made sure these dogs were not only healthy but also presentable for potential adopters. They recently enjoyed a pool party/spa day, complete with baths and nail trims, a treat to ensure they are looking their best as they seek new homes. What's more, the PRC currently has its adoption fees waived for all dogs and cats, in a move likely to incentivize potential pet parents during this opportune time.
The waiver on fees comes at a particularly eventful period, as the center also finds itself amidst kitten season, brimming with cats and kittens looking for homes. The initiative appears to be part of a broader effort to encourage the public to adopt pets from the shelter, providing a win-win situation for both the animals in need and individuals wanting to add a companion animal to their lives.
For those interested in adoption, the PRC has invited the community to visit their facility and find a new four-legged friend. With a variety of dogs that have fully recovered from their past ailment and cats in need of a home, the Pet Resource Center is positioned as an ideal place for finding the pet that fits one's lifestyle.
