In a grim incident that occurred in Harris County, authorities arrested a couple on allegations of hitting and killing a pedestrian with their separate vehicles before fleeing the scene. According to the ABC13, the suspects, identified as Emanuel Dewayne Watson and his wife, Robin Yvette Williams-Watson, were charged with failure to stop and render aid.
The tragic event took place at roughly 8:23 a.m. on Tuesday when 55-year-old Freddy Lee Heine was crossing the 9700 block of Antoine Drive and was struck. Harris County Sheriff Ed Gonzalez stated that following the incident, both drivers involved left the scene without rendering assistance to the victim, Heine, who was pronounced dead shortly thereafter. Information from the Click2Houston report highlighted that the crime involved a couple, both aged 55.
Further to their accounts, deputies pieced together the involvement of both vehicles, leading to the arrest of Watson and Williams-Watson. Both have since been booked into the Harris County Jail. Sheriff Gonzalez mentioned that Emanuel Watson was also found to have an additional charge relating to a parole violation. Details of the investigations are still unfolding.
