The disappearance of 22-year-old Angela Marisol Diaz has left her family in Houston seeking the community's aid in what they describe as a distressing ordeal. Diaz was last seen on Monday, and her family has been actively searching for her since realizing she was missing. According to a FOX 26 Houston report, her cell phone was tracked to an area behind the Fitness Connection off of I-10, a location inconsistent with the location a man claimed to have dropped her off at.
The situation is particularly concerning because the details surrounding her last known whereabouts are conflicting. While Angela was last viewed near the Moonlight Inn & Suites, her phone later seemed to almost hauntingly ping to an entirely different area of the city. "We are missing our family. We are missing one of ours on this holiday," said the wife of Edward Diaz, expressing the family's distress during an interview with FOX 26 Houston.
Angela's father, Edward Diaz, spoke to KHOU 11 News, suggesting the circumstances of his daughter's disappearance are suspicious. "She’s a really loving, loving girl. A happy girl. She doesn’t have any reason, like the police say, to run away," he stated. The police, according to the family, have not been responsive to the urgency felt by those close to Angela. "They tell me they don’t have the manpower right now, but time keeps going," Edward Diaz also mentioned.
In a separate appeal, Angela's mother, Yesenia Diaz, urged the public for assistance on KHOU 11 News by saying, "Please help us look for her and for the cops and for everybody to please come look". The family has even taken to posting flyers around the area where Angela's phone was last pinged. "She never goes one day without calling us," said Angela’s father Edward Diaz, speaking to the gravity of the scenario, as per a KHOU 11 News interview.
Further muddled details come from the two men last known to have been with Angela. Her boyfriend, who saw her last at the Moonlight Inn & Suites, claimed she was to meet another man, who when questioned first denied knowing Angela, then admitted to dropping her off at an address on Telephone Road. This address did not align with the wooded area where her phone signal was last detected. "When (I) called, I asked about my daughter. He said, at first, he didn’t know her, then said, 'Yes, I dropped her off at Telephone Road.' I told him, ‘Well, at 4 o’clock in the morning, her phone says she’s not on Telephone.' He just cussed at me and hung up the phone,” Edward Diaz recounted to KHOU 11 News.
Anyone with potentially valuable information about Angela Marisol Diaz's disappearance is urged to reach out to the Houston Police Department. The family continues to hold hope and seeks the community's help in bringing Angela home.
