A man was arrested and faces charges in the deaths of two individuals following a shooting incident at a residence on Wild Wind Lane in Houston. According to official sources, the suspect, identified as Pedro De La Cruz, 39, was charged with capital murder and is awaiting trial in the 228th State District Court.
On Sunday, around 12:10 p.m., the Houston Police Department received reports of a shooting at 351 Wild Wind Lane. Upon arrival, officers found two victims, a man and a woman, unresponsive inside the home. The Houston Fire Department paramedics later pronounced both victims deceased at the scene, found by officers who were dispatched to the residence following a call.
The identities of the deceased are currently pending confirmation by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences. Detective work by the HPD Homicide Division, specifically Sergeant K. Persad and Detective L. Gonzales, led to the apprehension of De La Cruz, who has been revealed as being related to the victims, though the exact nature of the relationship remains unclear.
Following the incident, De La Cruz was taken into custody at another location shortly afterward. When the shooting occurred inside the residence, a witness advised officers of the incident, which eventually led to the arrest of De La Cruz.
