
Authorities have charged Marty Andrew West, 39, with multiple felonies following a shooting incident at an apartment complex on Imperial Valley Drive in Houston, reported on Tuesday afternoon. According to a news release, West is facing charges for aggravated assault of a family member, aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, burglary of a habitation, and unlawful carrying of a weapon by a felon, these charges stem from the alleged confrontation that led to a 19-year-old male being shot and later hospitalized in stable condition.
The Houston Police Department (HPD) Major Assaults & Family Violence Division, with Officer B. Padilla reporting, was called to the scene shortly after the shooting took place around 4:15 p.m. responding officers discovered the young man suffering from gunshot wounds and promptly organized his transport to a local hospital for medical care, witnesses at the scene described how West had barged into the apartment initiated a physical altercation with the victim, and proceeded to shoot him before assaulting another adult and fleeing the area.
Currently, Marty West remains at large, and law enforcement is seeking assistance to apprehend him, a photograph of the suspect has been distributed in connection with the news release to aid in his identification.
