A man, already facing charges of Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon, led Houston-area constable deputies on a chase last week after refusing to pull over during a traffic stop. According to Constable Mark Herman's Office, the incident unfolded on Friday when deputies attempted to stop the vehicle in the 14100 block of the North Freeway.
The pursuit was reportedly short-lived, as deputies succeeded in halting the vehicle. The driver, identified as Esdras Hernandez, was discovered to be out on bond for a previous Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon charge. Constable Mark Herman reported, "Esdras Hernandez was arrested and booked into the Harris County Jail, charged with Eluding. His bond was set at $5,000.00 out of County Court 15."
Information on Hernandez's court date for the eluding charge, as well as the outcome of his prior aggravated assault case, remains undisclosed as of now. The constable's office has not released further details about the traffic stop that led to the pursuit.
