On Monday afternoon, Houston police discovered the body of a 63-year-old woman at 8435 Tidwell Road. According to the City of Houston's official news site, the discovery was made around 2:55 p.m. after HPD patrol officers were called to the scene where they found the woman unresponsive under a pile of blankets. Houston Fire Department paramedics were summoned and pronounced her dead. As of now, her identity and the cause of her death are pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences, which means more details are expected once an autopsy has been completed.
Detectives L. Patterson and N. Henderson from the HPD Homicide Division are leading the investigation, and whilst they have yet to confirm what led to the woman's death, they reported there were no leads to immediately suggest it was due to trauma. A witness, who came to check on the woman's well-being, unfortunately found her to be unresponsive. HPD has made it clear they are to closely examine all facets of this case and have urged the public to come forward with any pertinent information that may aid the investigation.
