A fatal motorcycle crash is under investigation after occurring on Houston's Blalock Road late Saturday evening. Houston Police Department's Vehicular Crimes Division has disclosed that a 29-year-old man, whose name has yet to be released pending identification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences, was pronounced dead by paramedics after losing control of his motorcycle.
The incident, which took place around 7:30 p.m. near the 4000 block, involved a red Yamaha YZF-R1 motorcycle that was being ridden northbound when the rider struck the median's curb and the vehicle subsequently came to rest on the median's grassy expanse, as detailed in a statement obtained by the City of Houston's official news site.
Houston Fire Department personnel were dispatched to the scene where they declared the man deceased. The investigation is ongoing.
