Houston authorities are currently investigating a tragic incident that resulted in the death of a juvenile male on Tuesday. The shooting occurred at approximately 6:55 p.m. in the 4200 block of Belle Park Drive. According to the City of Houston's official news release, the identity of the 15-year-old victim is still pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.
The Houston Police Department (HPD) Homicide Division, including Sergeants W. Dunn, C. Ponder along with Detective L. Brooks, are actively looking to investigate the circumstances surrounding the incident. HPD patrol officers initially responded to a call from Memorial Hermann Southwest Hospital after the young male, suffering from gunshot wounds, was transported there by private vehicle. Despite urgent medical care, the individual was pronounced deceased shortly after arrival. The suspect has been generally described as a Hispanic male, thought to be between 15 and 17 years old.
In what may be a connected event, officers also received reports of another shooting on the same evening. This separate occurrence was located in the 6000 block of Rogerdale Drive, where a second male, likewise 15 years of age, was discovered with gunshot wound(s). The Houston Fire Department paramedics attended the scene and swiftly moved the victim to a nearby hospital, where he is now reported to be in stable condition.
