The shooting occurred around 5:35 p.m. at 303 Sunnyside Street, according to a statement obtained by the City of Houston's official news outlet. Houston police arrived at an apartment complex parking lot to discover the 32-year-old male victim.
The detectives heading the investigation, P. Michon and M. Althaus of the HPD Homicide Division, are met with the task of piecing together a motive and finding the suspect or suspects responsible. According to the report, the victim was found lying in the parking lot; he was pronounced dead at the scene by the responding paramedics from the Houston Fire Department. As the investigation unfolds, the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences is handling the notification of next of kin.
