Since the unfortunate incident this past Sunday, around 7 p.m., when a Grand Rapids man in his mid-30s went missing after capsizing, local authorities have been ceaselessly scouring the area. Public access has been closed off since Wednesday evening to bolster the search operations.

A 911 call, as relayed by officials, initiated the search after the kayaker's girlfriend reported he didn't resurface following their deliberate removal of life jackets for comfort.
