
A man was fatally shot early yesterday morning in Southeast Washington, DC, prompting an investigation by local law enforcement. The Metropolitan Police Department (MPD) stated in a press release that officers from the Seventh District arrived at the 3900 block of 1st Street, Southeast, at around 1:41 a.m. yesterday, following reports of a shooting.
At the scene, officers found Calvin Moore, 36, with gunshot wounds in the roadway. According to the MPD's official statement, Moore was transported by the DC Fire and EMS to a local hospital. Despite the lifesaving efforts administered there, he was ultimately pronounced dead.
Moore, who has been identified as the deceased, did not have a fixed address. The investigation into the shooting has since been ongoing, with the MPD continuing their search for suspects and motives.
Anyone with information about this case is encouraged to contact the police. MPD offers a reward of up to $25,000 to anyone that provides information which leads to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible for any homicide committed in the District of Columbia.
