JetBlue is expanding its wings across Boston and New England, with a notable spike in seating capacity and several new route offerings set to shake up air travel in the region. According to an announcement by JetBlue, there will be a 20% increase in seats by this winter, including new flights from Manchester-Boston Regional Airport in New Hampshire starting this January.

"We are incredibly proud of our strong roots in Boston and New England, a place that has always embraced our vision for low fares and superior travel experiences,” Marty St. George, president of JetBlue, said in the same press release. There's a fresh focus on flights to Florida from the Northeast, aimed squarely at vacationers and sun-seekers, with plans to add the only nonstop flight from Manchester to Fort Lauderdale and daily journeys to Orlando and Fort Myers during the winter season.

Boston Logan International Airport, a longtime hub for JetBlue, will see a bump in routes to popular spots in Aruba, Barbados, Cancún, and more with the introduction of premium Mint® service on the Boston-Phoenix route. Meanwhile, cities like Providence and Hartford are slated for significant growth in JetBlue seat availability this winter, contributing to an average of 18 new daily departures from New England.

The growing footprint includes investments in upstate New York, with Buffalo, Albany, and Syracuse all benefiting from increased connections to Florida—highlighted by Buffalo's upcoming nonstop service to Palm Beach International Airport. On Long Island, MacArthur Airport will now offer direct trips to Orlando and Fort Lauderdale, catering to the regular JetBlue customer base in that area. By February, the airline is set to operate over 225 daily flights from Florida, an 8% increase compared to last year.

JetBlue is also updating its fleet, transitioning over half of its Embraer E190 planes to the more fuel-efficient Airbus A220, which boasts a more comfortable cabin experience. “With its customer-centered design, the A220 represents our commitment to providing the best onboard product," St. George explained in the JetBlue press release. These efforts are part of JetBlue’s strategy to optimize operations, improve reliability, and strengthen its position in leisure and visiting friends and relatives (VFR) markets as it aims for profitability.

Lastly, for travelers eager to check out these new offerings, JetBlue has promotional $49 one-way fares for select new routes like the service from Manchester and the Buffalo-West Palm Beach connection. Such deals can be snagged exclusively on the JetBlue website, where direct bookings also provide perks like 2x TrueBlue points and easier seat selections.
