
Las Vegas has witnessed a substantial legal development as Jacobo Aguilar Humberto, aged 43, has been sentenced to 97 months, which equates to just over eight years of incarceration, for his involvement in a drug distribution conspiracy. In addition to his prison term, U.S. District Judge Gloria M. Navarro has mandated that Humberro serve five years of supervised release after completing his sentence, as reported by News3LV.
The charges stemmed from a series of events culminating in Humberto's arrest alongside Eduardo Flores-Martinez on September 14, 2022, during which law enforcement seized a pound of heroin and an ounce of methamphetamine from his vehicle, and a significant cash sum of $2,060 and two loaded firearms, Flores-Martinez was described as a courier in this drug selling operation and had a pound of methamphetamine, an ounce of heroin and a loaded firearm found in his vehicle at the time of a traffic stop; according to details provided by 8 News Now. Furthermore, a search at Humberto's residence uncovered an additional $16,156 and three firearms.
Humberto entered a guilty plea to one count of conspiracy to distribute a controlled substance. From the start of 2022 to the day of his arrest, he conspired with Flores-Martinez to sell methamphetamine and heroin. There were occasions Humberto directed Flores-Martinez to carry out narcotics transactions on his behalf, implicating both men in the conspiracy. Flores-Martinez, for his role, has already been sentenced to seven years imprisonment followed by five years of supervised release.
The announcement of Humberto's sentencing was made by United States Attorney Jason M. Frierson for the District of Nevada and Assistant Special Agent in Charge Kevin Adams for the DEA Las Vegas District Office, this case was a collaborative effort between the DEA and the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department, with Assistant United States Attorney Joshua Brister leading the prosecution efforts.
