League City's local heroes come in all shapes and forms, but this Thursday, they have the chance to don a unique cape — or rather, a limited-edition Olympic-themed t-shirt. The Johnnie Arolfo Civic Center is transforming into a lifeline hub for Texans in need, as it hosts a Community Blood Drive on July 18, where residents can donate blood to help save lives.
The City of League City announced, "Help save lives by donating blood on Thursday, July 18. Each blood donation can save up to three lives!" The call for donors comes at a crucial time, when the simple act of giving blood could stand between life and death for up to three individuals.
According to a statement obtained by League City's official website, all participants will be rewarded with an exclusive souvenir for their goodwill. Interested donors are encouraged to roll up their sleeves at the Johnnie Arolfo Civic Center, located at 400 W. Walker Street. The drive is scheduled from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
For those ready to contribute to this life-saving cause, registration details are available online. Donors are asked to sign up for a time slot, ensuring the process is as smooth and efficient as possible. With the promise of that exclusive Olympic-themed t-shirt as a token of appreciation, the drive offers a tangible memento that symbolizes their contribution and the lives it may touch.
