If you've ever dreamed of joining a cattle drive and have a flair for Western or military-themed decoration, the City of Lewisville wants you. They're seeking participants for the Huffines Auto Dealerships Lewisville Cattle Drive Parade, marking the festivities ahead of the PBR Lewisville event. The bovine parade is scheduled to take place on Saturday, Sept. 14, starting at 4 p.m., with a route that stretches from Cowan Avenue, trots down Main Street, and concludes at Bill Weaver Arena, according to the City of Lewisville, Texas.
Participants are expected to deck out their vehicles and float to fit the "Western" and "Salute to Veterans" themes. According to the city's guide, all entries must sport decorations on at least two sides, accounting for a minimum of 50 percent decor to be eligible — except for vintage, public safety, and military vehicles, which get a pass on these requirements. Companies are welcome to display their logos, but they must adhere to the same guidelines. As the parade winds down, attendees can look forward to a pre-event concert, a cash bar, and various food trucks, with family activities wrapping up at 6 p.m. just before the PBR Lewisville event kicks off at 7:30 p.m.
The PBR Lewisville event promises an exciting display of athletic prowess, showcasing competitors from the Challenger Series of the PBR, which serves as a launching pad for riders aspiring to make their mark and secure a spot on the Unleash the Beast tour. As described by the City of Lewisville, Texas, "The Challenger Series gives riders the opportunity to compete in PBR-sanctioned events while earning their ticket to the prestigious Unleash the Beast tour." So, saddle up, decorate your rigs, and be part of a Texan tradition that celebrates both the Western spirit and the courage of veterans.
