Lincoln County has been the stage for a duo of determined thieves, targeting the sanctity of local businesses. According to the QC News, two individuals are now facing charges stemming from separate incidents of break-ins in the Denver and Stanley regions.

The first of these incidents unfolded on June 10, when a restaurant near the 500 block of Brentwood Road, Denver fell victim. Its peace shattered by the theft of an electronic gaming machine. In a parallel thread of crime, on July 10, another heist occurred near the 6000 block of Old Plank Road, where an A.T.M., laden with several thousand dollars, was uprooted from its moorings. As reported by WHKY, a subsequent unrelated case brought deputies to a location brimming with evidence. A vehicle, a trailer, and even part of an A.T.M. outside a residence on the 2000 block of Cardinal Loop in Stanley.

The strings of these break-ins led detectives back to a residence, where executing a search warrant yielded the primary treasures of their quest—the stolen A.T.M. and gaming machine. As per the information by Lincoln Herald, the suspects' identities were unwound from the tangled evidence.

Authorities clapped the irons of justice on one suspect, a 59-year-old from Stanley, charging him with two felony counts each of breaking & entering, larcenary after breaking & entering, and possession of stolen goods. His freedom now exchanged for a $30,000 secured bond, will soon answer for his alleged misdeeds in a Gaston County courtroom. Meanwhile, his alleged accomplice, 48-year-old Savoy Starr of Charlotte remains at large. With one felony count each of breaking & entering, larcenary after breaking & entering, and possession of stolen goods to her name, her shadow looms large in the minds of Lincoln County deputies.
