As summer begins to wind down, the Longwood Police Department is gearing up for its 5th Annual Back to School event, a program designed to get local students prepped and ready for the new school year, the giveaway provides much-needed supplies to the students of Longwood and the surrounding area, ensuring they can start the 2024-2025 school year on the right foot, as reported by City of Longwood.
Eligible participants include Longwood residents, students of Lyman High School or Longwood Elementary, and those residing in Seminole County, while tickets for the event are free, they must be collected in person from the Longwood Police Department offices from Monday to Friday, between the hours of 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
The distribution of these tickets is a secured process, requiring ID for pickup to ensure that the help reaches those who are truly part of the community. This initiative reflects the department's commitment to not only upholding law and order but also fostering community spirit and the potential of tomorrow through today’s youth.
For more information about obtaining tickets and the specifics of the Back to School event, residents, and students are encouraged to visit the Longwood Police Department's website or contact their offices directly.
