Los Angeles is about to embrace the global K-pop phenomenon in a way it never has before. This August, the Grammy Museum is set to launch an expansive K-pop exhibit that diligently reflects the genre's growth and the fandom it inspires. Teaming up with Hybe, the South Korean entertainment powerhouse behind the chart-topping BTS and a host of other notable K-pop acts, the museum will offer visitors a chance to immerse themselves in the world of Korean pop music through "Hybe: We Believe in Music, A Grammy Museum Exhibit," as reported by KTLA.
Spanning from August 2 to September 15 in downtown Los Angeles, the exhibit promises to not just showcase artifacts but also provide an interactive experience. It is set to feature a variety of original outfits from K-pop icons to rookie groups, along with sing-along and dance rooms designed to engage the attendees. Furthermore, Michael Sticka, president and CEO of the Grammy Museum, has revealed plans to also kick off the exhibit with "Global Spin Live: TWS," an evening with K-pop group TWS where they will hold a conversation followed by a performance, according to Billboard. This opening event aims to truly celebrate the K-pop culture and its impact.
The exhibit is expected to offer an in-depth look at the genre's influence in the present era of global music, with a 4,000-square-foot floor space dedicated to icons such as BTS, Seventeen, Tomorrow x Together, and newcomers like LE SSERAFIM. Highlighting key moments and visual feasts like BTS’s “Yet to Come (The Most Beautiful Moment)” and Seventeen’s “Maestro,” fans can expect to feast their eyes on a range of never-before-displayed items. Props from a wide array of other Hybe talents are also featured, as AP News adds to the story.
