The Metropolitan Police Department reported the arrest of a 30-year-old man, Terrell Baker, in connection with an armed robbery that occurred in late May. According to the official statement, the incident took place inside an establishment located on the Unit Block of New York Avenue, Northeast, where the suspects assaulted a victim and forcibly took money, property, and moped keys.
The robbery, occurring at approximately 8:26 a.m. on Wednesday, May 29, escalated when the victim attempted to prevent the suspects from taking the moped, resulting in the assailants using a stun gun on the victim. Fleeing the scene without the vehicle, the suspects were at large until Baker’s arrest on Thursday, July 18. He now faces an Armed Robbery (Taser) charge.
More information has been solicited by the police from the public on this matter. To this end, any witnesses or informants are urged not to approach or apprehend individuals but to contact the police at (202) 727-9099. Alternatively, tips can be texted to the Department's TEXT TIP LINE at 50411. The police have also offered up to a $10,000 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of those responsible for the crime, as noted in the official police release.
Despite Baker's arrest, the case is still active and further investigation is underway to identify and apprehend any remaining suspects. The Metropolitan Police Department has not yet disclosed if Baker's apprehension was the result of a tip.
