
A man, believed to be in his 30s, succumbed to a gunshot wound after being hastily dropped off at Jackson Park Hospital on Thursday night. The victim, sustaining a wound to the back, was left by an individual in a white car that departed from the hospital posthaste, the Chicago Sun-Times reports
According to the Chicago Police, the shooting occurred at around 9:20 p.m. in the 7100 block of South State Street in the Greater Grand Crossing neighborhood. The victim was left outside the medical facility and Chicago's emergency responders were not given the opportunity to render immediate aid.
The victim's identity remains undisclosed as of the latest updates, and despite the urgency of medical staff efforts, he was pronounced dead at the hospital. No arrests have been made related to the incident, and while information is scarce, authorities are piecing together the circumstances of the shooting.
