A fatal shooting in Pittsburgh's Carrick neighborhood on Saturday night has left one man dead. Officers responded to the intersection of Olivet and Antenor Avenue around 9:30 p.m., where they discovered a man who had sustained a gunshot wound to the shoulder. Despite being alert and capable of briefly communicating with first responders, the victim was transported to the hospital in critical condition, where he was later pronounced dead, as reported by TribLIVE.
According to WPXI, an initial investigation appears to suggest that the incident occurred in a private residence on the 300 block of Overbrook Blvd. It is suggested by police that the man was attempting to enter a house when he was shot by a woman from inside the property. The specifics of their relationship, if any, or his reasons for trying to enter the home, remain unclear at this time.
The Pittsburgh Police have not released the identities of either the victim or the shooter, and specifics regarding the circumstances leading up to the shooting are still being pieced together.
