A fatal shooting in Portland's Madison South Neighborhood claimed the life of a man late Saturday night. According to a report by the Portland Police Bureau, East Precinct officers responded to a distress call at approximately 11:48 p.m., regarding a man shot on the 3600 block of Northeast 82nd Avenue.
Upon their arrival, police found the man's body in a motel parking lot, already deceased. The circumstances surrounding the event remained fuzzy as the perpetrator or perpetrators had fled the scene before authorities arrived, and as of the time of reporting, no arrests have been made, police said.
The investigation into the murder was promptly initiated by the Portland Police Hype Team. Their proceedings have led to the temporary closure of Northeast 82nd Avenue, bracketed by Northeast Milton Street and Northeast Beech Street, to facilitate their operations.
