
Just after midnight, a shooting disrupted the usual quiet of Carrick, police were summoned to the 2500 block of Brownsville Road at around 12:20 a.m., responding to emergency calls about a person shot. The victim, identified as an adult male, suffered a gunshot wound to his lower leg, as reported by the Pittsburgh Public Safety Department.
The man managed to seek assistance from a nearby business, and first responders transported the victim to the hospital where, according to Pittsburgh Public Safety, he remains in stable condition.
Pittsburgh Police's Mobile Crime Unit arrived at the scene to comb for evidence and successfully recovered two spent shell casings not far from where the shooting occurred. Police have turned to local surveillance systems, casting a digital net in hopes of capturing clues.
