Authorities are tackling another case of gun violence in Southeast Atlanta following an incident occurring at an apartment complex on Conley Road. According to FOX5 Atlanta, the shooting took place at the complex located on the 800 block, where a man suffered gunshot wounds. This spot of the city is grappling with the weight of recurrent violence, as it's the same vicinity where, less than a week prior, a man was attacked and pistol-whipped.
The Atlanta Police Department has confirmed their presence at the Villages at South River apartment complex at 875 Conley Road, arriving to the scene on a dim Sunday night around 7:10 p.m. When officers arrived, they found "a male with an gunshot wound," as relayed by Atlanta News First. The victim received immediate attention from Grady EMS and was transported to a hospital where he was listed in stable condition.
The Atlanta Police are deep in the preliminary stages of the investigation. The details are sparse but the narrative so far points to involvement of two male suspects in the shooting. Community members, witnesses, or those with knowledge pertaining to the incident are being urged to come forward.
