Memphis Police are actively investigating two separate shootings that occurred in the Orange Mound neighborhood early Wednesday morning, as community concerns mount over the violence. The first of these incidents took place at Pendleton Place Apartments, located near the intersection of Lamar Avenue and Pendleton Street, shortly after 1:30 a.m. According to Action News 5, details are presently limited, and outreach to the police has been made in an attempt to learn more.
WREG, in an earlier report, mentioned someone being loaded into an ambulance at this scene, indicating that there were likely injuries during the first shooting. The night's unrest continued with a subsequent shooting on Marianna Street near Park Avenue around 4 a.m. At this time, it remains unclear if this second event resulted in any injuries, and much of the circumstances surrounding the incident are still being pieced together by authorities. WREG's coverage states that police are in the process of searching for a potential victim from this second shooting.
Meanwhile, a crew member from ABC24 witnessed first responders transporting a victim into an ambulance after the first shooting at Pendleton Place Apartments, though the condition of the victim and information about the suspect have not been released as of yet.
