As the countdown to the FedEx St. Jude Championship ticks away, Memphis gears up for a significant golfing event slated to captivate attendees with more than just the allure of the sport. With the commencement set for August 15, TPC Southwind becomes a hub of activity, introducing a variety of new features aimed at enhancing the fan experience. In less than 30 days, guests will witness the unveiling of the redesigned par 3 and new fan-centric attractions.

Tournament Director Joe Tomek highlighted the upgrades during a media day exercise, "We're trying to create a bit of a lively atmosphere for those that might not like golf," he told a Local Memphis interview. "Maybe they love it, maybe they don't, but showing people that you can have a lot of fun on a golf tournament, whether you're a fan or not." In line with the festival atmosphere, the tournament will feature The Bluff at Hole 14, a scenic overlook that comes coupled with the Bubbles and Birdies concession stand offering culinary delights from chefs Andy Ticer and Michael Hudman.

With the expectation of a spirited crowd, logistics at the TPC Southwind are unparalleled, as meticulous planning spans the entire year for this one week of golfing drama. Joe Tomek is well aware of these dynamics, "Our team's job is for one week a year," Local Memphis reports. "So we plan 51 weeks out of the year for that 52nd week, and we love what we do, and we're really good at it, too. A labor of love is what we like to call it." Indeed, the commitment is evident in the efforts invested to prepare the course and its facilities for the influx of golf enthusiasts.

Amidst the verdant links, Memphis stands to see an uptick in its sporting excitement, with university athletes gracing the tournament through FedEx's N.I.L. agreement, and fans stand the chance to snag exclusive giveaways accordingly. "The first 250 fans to the hole each day will receive an exclusive giveaway," Local Memphis confirms, adding a competitive twist to the event's package. Moreover, merchandise savvy spectators will encounter a refreshed range of apparel options, featuring collections from Trap Golf, Peter Millar, Golf is Dope, Eastside Golf, and Lulu Lemon at the fan shop near Hole 18, as noted by Local Memphis.

As all plans converge towards a memorable golf tournament, the stage is set at TPC Southwind. The team's readiness sets a promising premise for the FedEx Cup Playoffs' inauguration, as noted by Local Memphis and WREG. Fans, both seasoned and newcomers to the greens, are in for a spectacle woven with the treasures of the game and the comforts of southern hospitality.
