Mesa Parks and Recreation is giving residents a head start on planning their autumn by opening up registrations for a plethora of fall programs designed to keep the community active and engaged. According to an announcement on the City of Mesa's official website, Mesa inhabitants can claim their spots in various athletic and leisure activities starting now, with offerings that cater to every member of the family, whether it’s adults looking to serve an ace in tennis or kids keen on scoring a goal in soccer.
The lineup includes adult sports like tennis, pickleball, softball, and more, while kids have options ranging from flag football, both co-ed and girls only, to the strategy-filled games of Dungeons & Dragons. They embody the community spirit of bringing people together, which seems more necessary than ever after years of pandemic-induced isolation — the programs cover a spectrum from competitive sports to relaxed enrichment classes, like tai chi and LEGO Roboteering.
Special events serve as the cherries on top of the program sundae, with the Goodbye Summer Swim Party and Celebrate Mesa punctuating the season, while Pumpkin Splash promises to bring festive fun with not one, but two days of aquatic pumpkin play. Community members can dive into the full list of programs and events in the fall PLAYBOOK Magazine, a comprehensive guide for planning a season full of engaging activities.
Registering for these opportunities can be done with ease—choose from the online Active Net Registration System, zip an email to [email protected], send a form via snail mail to the Mesa Parks and Recreation P.O. box, or walk into their office. Non-residents need to wait until July 15 to start signing up, but soon enough they, too, can join in the fun; registration forms are offered in both English and Spanish and those qualifying may snag a 50% discount for youth and adaptive programs, making these offerings more accessible for a broader swath of the Mesa population.
